Sceptre places 1000-machine order

07/02/2013

An order for 1,000 machines was yesterday signed on the stand of the Gauselmann Group with Sceptre Leisure, one of the UK’s largest operators. The order was for the Gauselmann Genie series of video games which will be produced as Category C machines for the British market.

Ken Turner, CEO of Sceptre, told us: “We plan to put out several thousand of these games over the next few years. Sceptre has formulated a five-year agreement with Gauselmann Group to cover the injection of the games into our operation.”

Turner praised the co-operation which his company had enjoyed with the Gauselmann Group and in particular with Gauselmann’s UK offshoot, Blueprint Gaming, which has written much of the software which is going into the Genie machines. When asked whether the machines would be operated on the ‘German system’ of leasing, he said that it would be ‘a combination of leasing  and purchase.’
