Sound Leisure signs deal with Britvic for branded VenueHubs

UK jukebox manufacturer Sound Leisure has signed a landmark agreement with leading soft drinks manufacturer Britvic Soft Drinks.

Under the deal which was signed during this weeks EAG, Sound Leisure will create Pepsi Max branded VenueHub P32 digital jukeboxes featuring exclusive interactive content which will only be available to Pepsi customers.

The interactive concepts developed for Pepsi Max are only possible due to the revolutionary nature of the VHub platform. This provides a powerful, flexible and cost-effective basis for the development of customised interactive content which can engage customers and increase brand visibility in venues.

Lucas Bergmans, UK Marketing Manager for Pepsi and 7UP, Britvic Soft Drinks, commented, “We were extremely impressed with the unique opportunities VenueHub offered us from a brand perspective. It provides us with a highly interactive and visual platform with which to engage our customers, which simply can’t be matched by any other product in that environment. Pepsi has a long established link with music so Sound Leisure’s VHub is a great platform on which to base this ground breaking campaign.” SL Director Mike Black added “We’ve been working with Pepsi on the VHub concept for a significant period of time. The opportunity to collaborate with one of the biggest brands in the world has been a priceless experience for our team. The biggest positive is that we know this opportunity only came about through VHub. We simply wouldn’t have got through the door with any other jukebox product. It therefore represents a major step forward for Sound Leisure and one which reinforces our belief in the direction we are leading the jukebox market. Project such as this can only bring benefits to the VHub development and therefore all our customers.”

The Pepsi trial will begin in March/April with all the customised software currently being developed in-house by Sound Leisure. The Pepsi agreement will see the first substantial roll out of branded customised content on VHub, a feature of the platform that SL believe will be utilised more frequently in the future.

“Our expectations for the VHub concept have always been much more ambitious than creating just another jukebox platform. Sound Leisure have lead the way with jukebox innovation for over 30 years and the VHub platform gives us the ability to maintain that lead for the foreseeable future. We’ve still only touched on what’s possible and we’re confident VHub will increasingly present Sound Leisure and our customers with unique opportunities such as this,” concludes Mike Black.

This year’s EAG also saw Sound Leisure unveil several new software features for the flexible VHub platform, with the innovative ‘DanceMe’ app creating a real buzz with operators and retailers. Using VHub’s built in camera, ‘DanceMe’ enables a customer to capture a picture of their face which can then be superimposed on to one of a number of animated dancing characters. The personalised music video is then played on the VHub screen during playback of the customers track and can also be shared with friends via social networks.
