Haringey inquiry into high numbers of LBOs

According to the Haringey Independent, an inquiry into the rising numbers of betting shops in Haringey, London got underway yesterday.

The publication reported that Haringey Council‘s Overview and Scrutiny Committee are looking into the impact of betting shops in the borough.

The committee will gather evidence on the impact of betting shops and suggest solutions to any identified problems.

Evidence will be heard from residents associations, Haringey police, gambling awareness groups, representatives from local betting shop operators, the Association of British Bookmakers, and council planning and licensing officers.
