Namco Prize Division launches new Shaun/Timmy ranges

25/07/2012

Namco Prize Division and Brent Electronic are pleased to announce they have rounded up a fantastic new range of Timmy Time and Shaun the Sheep plush characters.

The Aardman Animations creation Shaun the Sheep first appeared in the Wallace and Gromit film A Close Shave and then had his own series for children on CBBC. His little cousin Timmy then inspired a series Timmy Time for pre-schoolers on CBeebies.

“The distinctive plush toys of the Aardman characters have an incredible charm and they are loved by people of all ages,” says James Anderson, General Manager of Namco Prize Division.

“We have successfully been selling Shaun the Sheep for some time now and have done some limited edition productions such as the Christmas range and even some bespoke product for individual customers.  Now, by working closely with Aardman Animations our in-house Creative Department is able to draw up new designs for the characters including the “Love Ewe” and “Zipper” ranges,” he adds.

The Zipper range features Shaun wearing a “fleece” jacket over a coloured T shirt. The Love Ewe range has a romantic theme and Shaun is featured carrying a heart or rose, or wearing “love” slogan T shirts. There are four figures in each range. The standard Shaun the Sheep comes in five sizes, from 15cm up to a giant 50cm figure. Timmy is available as a 25cm high figure.

“Shaun and Timmy Time have arrived in perfect time as Aardman launches a series of promotional activities over the summer holidays,” continues James. “These include the Championsheeps – a kind of farmyard Olympics – featured heavily on the CBBC website.

Aardman has also partnered with Sea Life to produce unique Timmy Time at Sea Life events. These will be held at four UK Sea Life attractions from July 21st until September 2nd.

“It is impossible to underestimate the popularity of the Shaun and Timmy brands from pre-schoolers onwards. Shaun’s Facebook page has 2.7m followers. We are working with Aardman to promote our range of products on the site, which will undoubtedly build even greater interest in upcoming months,” adds James. “In addition, this is a brand that is known and loved all over Europe, so we have found sales into overseas markets have also gone from strength to strength.”

The products are available now exclusively from Brent Electronic in the UK and various distributors in Europe (contact Namco Prize Europe for more information on distribution partners).
