Bob Rudd buys Masterplay Leisure

Bob Rudd  has bought fellow IOA member Masterplay Leisure Ltd. in Cheshire, for an undisclosed sum, adding more than 350 machines and 10 staff to the business.

Managing Director Nick Rudd told press, “We’ve been in discussions since just before Christmas. Masterplay was part of our buying group and dad has known them for about 25 years. They felt it was time to move on and for us, it would consolidate the North West region. We’ll integrate it into the company over the next few months.

“This expansion in the North West region allows us to target a wider audience, and push forward with new products and techniques to increase cash box earnings, benefiting everyone,” he addedThe acquisition of Masterplay fits into Bob Rudd’s strategy to ensure cash box protection and deliver innovative products to the market.

“We will be working closely with the existing staff to ensure a smooth transition for customers.  This expansion in the North West region allows us to target a wider audience and push forward with new products and techniques to increase cash box earnings, benefitting everyone.,” said Bob Rudd.

Bob Rudd, which now has 110 staff, is planning further acquisitions in the future

Nick Rudd said: “We are an ambitious company. We want to acquire. We hope this will be the first of a couple this year.” The business, which was founded by Bob Rudd in 1989 with a single jukebox, also has depots in Leeds, Keswick in Cumbria, Warrington in Cheshire, and Newark in Nottinghamshire.
