11/03/2012

Nobles Amusements in Leigh was targeted in a terrifying attack by raiders wielding a machete and a knife.

Two men wearing crash helmets entered Nobles Amusements on Bradshawgate, Leigh and grabbed a male employee by the throat and ordered his female colleague to lie on the floor and demanded cash.

They stole cash from a staff room then escaped down an alley on a red coloured a motorcycle believed to be around 125cc.

Detective Constable Kevin Telford, of Wigan CID, said: “People simply going about their work and a number of innocent customers have been left shaken as a result of this incident and it is important we bring the two responsible to justice.

“The men thought nothing of brandishing weapons and threatening staff to get hold of whatever cash they could and if anyone knows who is responsible I want to hear from you.

“Did you see anyone in the area on a motorbike before or after the incident? Do you know someone matching the descriptions with access to a motorcycle or have you overheard someone talking about this? If so get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Wigan CID on 0161 856 5307, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
