R & D pays off for Bandai Namco at EAG

EAG saw the culmination of many years of investment in the sector by Bandai Namco, as the latest expansive range of machines and the Pac-Man Zone concept were unveiled to appreciative customers.

Bandai Namco has invested massively in the research and development of new machines and leisure concepts in the last few years, despite the economic downturn. The result is one of the most comprehensive ranges of amusement machines and prizes available from a single supplier.

Brent Namco had no fewer than 28 new releases at the show, with 12 brand new titles that had never been shown in Europe before. These included the incredible Mach Storm shooter and flying simulator with innovative domed screen. Alpine Racer enjoyed an amazing response with visitors to the show and the four-player Pac-Man Swirl dominated the stand with its vibrant colours and fun ball-drop action.

“This year we had redemption, novelty, video, theatre style video, prizes and the Pac-Man Zone arcade concept to present to our customers,” says John Brennan, Commercial Director. “Our stand and many of the new developments were underpinned by the new Pac-Man character from the TV show Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. I think customers understood just how significant this brand is going to be and appreciated how much investment the company has made to ensure that we have a winning range of machines to help them remain profitable.”

In addition to the range of products from Namco, the stand also played host to a number of fantastic new titles from partner manufacturers including Raw Thrills, Jennison, and Apple. Batman from Raw Thrills, made its European debut at the show and is available exclusively in the region through Brent/Namco. Also from Raw Thrills was Aliens Armageddon, based on the cult film franchise.

Barrel of Monkeys from Raw Thrills is a video redemption title based on the classic game by Hasbro, where players must link the monkeys together.

“We had some super hero licences on the stand this year with our own and our partners’ games,” concludes Brennan. “It was the perfect way to start 2014.”
