All work and no play… bring on EAG!

12/11/2010

I have been asked a number of times whether I am going to IAAPA in recent weeks. The answer has to be “I wish”. With this new project to get underway, which is firmly aimed at the UK, I can’t justify jetting off to the US – even though half the UK manufacturing sector will be there..

So, I am saving myself for the EAG in January. Coin-op Community will be sharing a stand with InterGame magazine and I get to get 2 whole nights away from toddler duties at home, thanks to my husband. So, I will be staying on site, so to speak. Gillian at EAG just sent me a press release pointing out all the great places to go out around the ExCel area.

I quote: “ The world famous Canary Wharf is 10 minutes from ExCel and offers visitors more than 200 shops, restaurants and bars. The choice includes The Plateau (French), Carluccio’s (Italian), Wahaca (Mexican) and Tompkins (New York Steak House). Equally close by is the historic West India Quay, home of the Docklands Museum. Curve at the Marriott offers superb fish and seafood whilst Dockmaster’s House serves a first class Indian cuisine. The more adventurous can take a 15-minute drive to Limehouse where they will find La Figa’s new contemporary Italian and Gordon Ramsay’s ‘gastropub’, The Narrow (pictured).”

As someone who doesn’t get out much these days (the violins are playing!) I must say, I cannot wait to get out and about in January. Just how many meals can I fit in for two days away?!!!
