ACOS 2017 Closes On A High Note

It is said that the cohesion and adaptability of any industry are only truly apparent during testing times. Last week the UK amusements and coin-op industries passed such a test with flying colours when a fire at Chelsea Football Club forced a last-minute change of venue upon The Autumn Coin-Op Show.

Organiser Karen Cooke explained, “We were extremely fortunate in securing space at Olympia London, located only two miles from Chelsea Football Club, and still viewed with affection by many in our industry. I have to say that a huge ‘thank you’ is due to the team at London Olympia. They really pulled out all of the stops; we actually signed the Tenancy Agreement on the Monday and met the scheduled opening time of 10.00 am on the Wednesday.

Karen Cooke continued, “Our exhibitors were amazing, they rallied round and were highly supportive; delivering what turned out to be a very good show.”

On the show floor, the mood was upbeat with several exhibitors reporting their best ever ACOS.

On the RLMS Sales stand, Managing Director Tony Glanville was impressed with the calibre and quantity of visitors: “I couldn’t believe how many people arrived early and they were ready to do business. There was a lot of interest in the Emoji community licensed redemption product and the retro Golden Game and Bar-X 7even . We’ve been delighted with ACOS, it has a great buzz and has built every year,” revealed Tony

At Quixant UK, Sales Director John Malin was also pleased with the show, saying, “A very useful show and a great opportunity to see many of our customers in the same location. We exhibit at 14 trade shows and this is one of the more relaxed, enabling us to spend quality time with customers.”

The show also went well for first-time exhibitor Instance Automatics, with Managing Director Ian Eason commenting on how busy they had been.

At E-Service, Managing Director Mike Clokie was very satisfied with the event: “At ACOS you see decision takers, owner operators and senior directors. This is a networking show with people happy to speak about strategy and budgets in an open and honest way. We’ve experienced a great deal of interest in systems for networked machines and analytics,” informed Mike.

ACOS has become synonymous with networking and despite the last-minute changes, this year’s show maintained the tradition of business opportunities in an informal environment, aided perhaps by free bars on the show floor at the end of the first day!

ACOS’s success highlights the indomitable spirit and determination of our industry, and has demonstrated its ability to deliver a great event, whatever the circumstances.
